Skin Deep Episode, how did the cameraman die?
(too old to reply)

Just finished watching Skin Deep. I remember hearing about a
helicopter crash during the filming of a MPI episode is this how the
cameraman died? There is a dedication during the end credits and it
states he died during the making oif the show.

I love this episode and for some reason the end with TC and Magnum
playing volleyball asking each other if they have flashbacks always
gets me.

Also, I only have the first 9 episodes on DVD right now, how long is
the 70's intro (with the funky bass line and cop show/porno movie
style) used?

thanks...Kevin

The original Freebairn-Smith theme music is used for the titles through
"The Curse of the King Kamehameha Club" (episode 11). The new
Post/Carpenter theme was introduced as part of the score during "The
Ugliest Dog in Hawaii" (episode 8), and was played behind the end
credits afterwards. It became the theme for the titles in episode 12,
"Thicker than Blood."

thanks Im glad there are still some in the know around here. I still
wonder about that cameraman. Thank God for DVD's because this is the
only way I can watch MPI... Im watching one episode a day just like
the good ol days of A&E syndication.

I still wonder about that cameraman.
The crash during the filming of Skin Deep that killed camera operator
Robert Vander Kar (sp?) happened over the water. Bellisario describes
it in the MPI "True Hollywood Story" that the chopper was hovering low
over the surface when an unusually large whitecap rose and smacked one
of the landing skids. In a split second the chopper was down in the
ocean.
